"Over the past 3 years I and several other owners have disputed the Administrator's and President's action to prevent owners gaining access to the community accounts. I have over the three years taken advice from two lawyers and requested access to the accounts documents through a Public Notary without success. "Thank you Myra and team at the CAB. My husband and I arrived in Spain in September, having sold up in the UK to start our new life in the sun. Our first big problem,even though we tried to sort out,was trying to get running water to our flat. The builders on site had first claim to the water and so from 7.30am until 4.30pm we were without running water. Once or twice if they forgot to reconnect us we could be without water for a couple of days, and twice we had no water over the weekend. This situation carried on for more than two months. We spoke to the water company who assured us it was the developers’ problem, the developers assured us it was the problem of the Community, the Community in turn assured us it was the problem of the Water company!! Help finally arrived in the guise of Myra from CAB who spent a lot of time, making phone calls, meeting the developers and the Community. Speaking Spanish and knowing the system Myra managed to get running water in the flat. We were so grateful. Bob and Sylvia"
"Myra has also helped us to get our residencies, register with the doctor and last and by no means least to get us a telephone and internet when we were told that it would be the middle of 2008 before lines would be available to our block. No mention was made of being able to get a radio phone which is what Myra organised with telefonica. We had a phone five days after she put the request into telefonica. Again we were so grateful. Myra and the CAB team have helped us in so many ways, even translating official letters we have received. At the moment Myra and the CAB are making arrangements for us to have our driving licences legalised. Where else could you get help like this? Without Myra and the CAB I think we would have packed up and returned to the UK so it’s a big THANK YOU from Bob and Sylvia."
"We had a holiday home on the Costa Blanca in 1980. Eventually in 2000 I accepted a job in Gran Canarias. But five years later my whole world collapsed due to ill health. The Job ended.We decided to find a home in Andalusia. One year on, my health deterated. My Doctor told me I would never work again. I was made incapacidad temporal. With which you visit your Doctor every week and collect a certificate. In that period I was paid a small amount of money through the Spanish system. After eighteen months the small amount of money, ran out. Living only on my wife’s U.K. pension plus a small nest egg. We soon ran out of money. The U.K. Social System had told us that they had sent the paperwork to the Spanish Social. Somehow they lost our paperwork. With no payments from either for over twenty months, my health not in good order. All seemed lost. Four weeks ago through REM Radio we contacted Myra. "Just to tell all you would be residents of Spain. Please do not give up the dream. There are a lot of horror stories out there, land grab, communication problems with the authorities, Problems with lawyers, legality of your property. We experienced most of these but with the guidance of Costa Advice Bureau in Estepona we slowly but surely worked it all out. The Costa del Sol is now a fantastic place for us to live. "Thank you very much to Costa Advice Bureau and to telefonica for clearing up a invoice error on our last bill. We were being charged for a item of equipment that we did not have or ask for. After many attemps to recoup the large sum charged to us we approached the bureau. Seems that the amount that we were overcharged for will be in our bank within the week. Thank's again.
